Officials report progress but say more work is needed on the state’s “Safe Harbor” program which provides help to young victims of sex trafficking, rather than treating them like criminals. State Health Commissioner, Doctor Ed Ehlinger says “Me,too” campaigns will raise awareness of what’s happening with sex trafficking. Ehlinger says, “Sex trafficking is also a blatant example of what can evolve from a society that tolerates that kind of… disrespectful behavior, particularly of men in power to women.”
