As the holiday season approaches while COVID cases spike, health officials are asking Minnesotans to seriously consider whether they should have in-person gatherings. Leading epidemiologist, Doctor Michael Osterholm says, “I have been involved with too many situations where young, healthy adults or others have come home for one or more celebrations…, have transmitted the virus in the home, and only to find that several weeks later grandpa and grandma, or mom and dad, or Uncle Bill and Aunt Jane are dead.”
Osterholm says if people really want to be serious about loving and protecting their families, they’ll follow COVID safety precautions — which might mean *not* having in-person gatherings this holiday season.
