Top officials urging Minnesotans to limit holiday gatherings

November 18, 2020 By Bill Werner

Top officials are urging Minnesotans to seriously consider limiting holiday gatherings this season because of the danger of further spreading COVID-19. Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan says, “It is killing me that I will not be able to have Thanksgiving with my mom, and I know that so many of us are feeling that right now — but there are empty seats at the table that will never be filled again…, so please do everything you can to keep your tables full next year.”

Governor Tim Walz said Tuesday “hospital space is going to become much more of a concern over the next three weeks” because of the number of health care workers either infected or exposed to COVID. “The difference… whether it goes from challenging to crisis will be on the behavior that we exhibit now over the next, basically, two to four weeks,” Walz says.
