The Dayton administration is trying to land Amazon’s second North American headquarters in Minnesota and Senate Republicans say they stand ready to help. Majority Leader Paul Gazelka contends there will be benefits to Greater Minnesota, even though Amazon says its new headquarters must be in a community of one million or more. He says, “The fact is, you have a number of people that commute and then all the different revenue streams that come into Minnesota as a result of a business of that size only helps the whole state.” Gazelka says suppliers and likely offshoot companies would also bring more business to Greater Minnesota.
