Governor Tim Walz says he wants Minnesota to have contingency plans ready if there’s another federal government shutdown in three weeks — an approach Senate Republican Majority Leader Paul Gazelka agrees with. Gazelka says, “It’s wise that we talk about, what do we do if they somehow cannot move forward in agreement. We’re responsible for the state of Minnesota and that’s what we’ll focus on.”
Gazelka says in Minnesota lawmakers both sides of the aisle “seem to be communicating” and doesn’t expect the problems they’re having in Washington.
