Roads and businesses are closed in parts of southeast Minnesota after as much as seven inches of rain swamped some areas last night and this morning. Several major roads in Rochester were closed for a few hours. Stretches of Highway 14 in Dodge and Olmsted counties were affected and numerous rural roads could remain closed through Saturday. The Weather Service reports the hardest hit area was west of Rochester near Oxbow Park. A farmer there reported losing 30 to 40 head of cattle. There were flooded runways at Rochester International Airport which recorded 4.95 inches of rain, its highest-ever daily total in June.
