No one was injured after several cars of a Canadian Pacific train derailed in Houston County in far southeastern Minnesota late last night. Sheriff’s officials say two of the cars broke through the ice into the Mississippi River near Reno. One of the cars in the river was carrying grain, the other sodium chlorate. Hazmat crews determined none of the materials was posing a threat to public safety. The railroad tracks are parallel to Minnesota State Highway 26 along the Mississippi River. Drivers can expect one lane closed to traffic as crews complete the cleanup process.
