Continuing problems with the state’s vehicle registration system remain on state lawmakers’ radar in 2018 — the year when Minnesota must comply with the new federal REAL ID law for drivers licenses. The state has until October 10th after receiving another extension, and outgoing state I-T head Thomas Baden told lawmakers the software interface is “gonna work” — but Senator Scott Newman is not convinced. The Hutchinson Republican says, “The same questions that we are answering today… we were asking in February of 2015. So I don’t know whether it will work or not.”
