June 28, 2022 By Minnesota News Network

The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have reinstated infielder Jorge Polanco from the 10-day Injured List.

Polanco, who missed the Twins’ last 14 games with low back tightness, has hit .245 (53-for-216) with 10 doubles, seven home runs, 33 RBI, 32 walks, 28 runs scored and a .729 OPS in 58 games for the Twins this season.

To make room on the 26-man roster, the Twins have optioned outfielder Mark Contreras to Triple-A St. Paul. Contreras, who was recalled on Saturday, appeared in two games during his most recent stint with the Twins and recorded his first major league hit last night in Cleveland against the Guardians.
