The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have reinstated shortstop Carlos Correa from the 7-day Concussion Injured List.
Correa sustained the injury on May 15 at Baltimore after colliding with outfielder Byron Buxton in shallow centerfield and missed the club’s last five games. Prior to landing on the 7-day IL, he hit .236 (35-for-148) with eight doubles, two home runs, 13 RBI, eight walks, 14 runs scored and a .605 OPS in 41 games for the Twins this season.
Correa takes the 26-man roster spot vacated by infielder Ryan Fitzgerald, who was optioned to Triple-A St. Paul yesterday.
