The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have selected the contract of right-handed pitcher Randy Dobnak from Triple-A St. Paul.
Dobnak, 29, has appeared in 21 games (19 starts) for the Saints this season, going 9-5 with a 3.61 ERA (99.2 IP, 40 ER), 43 walks and 102 strikeouts. Over his last eight Triple-A starts, since June 15, Dobnak has gone 5-0 with a 1.70 ERA (42.1 IP, 8 ER), 16 walks and 42 strikeouts. The 6-foot-1, 230-pound right-hander pitched parts of three seasons for the Twins from 2019-21, going 9-12 with a 4.94 ERA (125.2 IP, 69 ER), 30 walks and 77 strikeouts in 33 games (21 starts). He last appeared in a major league game for Minnesota on September 3, 2021 at Tampa Bay.
To make room for Dobnak on the 40-man roster, the Twins have transferred first baseman/outfielder Alex Kirilloff (mild back strain) to the 60-day Injured List.
