The Minnesota Twins announced that they have claimed right-handed pitcher Thomas Hatch off waivers from the Kansas City Royals.
Hatch, 30, appeared in one game for the Royals on August 1 at Toronto, allowing two runs on two hits (1 HR), with one strikeout in 1.0 inning, and was designated for release or assignment on August 2. He has spent the majority of the 2025 season with Triple-A Omaha, going 5-6 with a 4.22 ERA (91.2 IP, 43 ER), 28 walks and 78 strikeouts in 18 starts for the Storm Chasers. The Tulsa, Oklahoma native has spent parts of five major league seasons with Toronto (2020-23), Pittsburgh (2023) and Kansas City (2025), going 4-4 with a 5.14 ERA (70.0 IP, 40 ER), 33 walks and 62 strikeouts in 40 games (6 starts).
