Twins announce program for April 8th home opener

March 30, 2021 By Bill Werner

Former Twins manager Ron Gardenhire, who lead the team to six division championships in 13 seasons, will throw out the ceremonial first pitch at the Twins’ 2021 home opener, the afternoon of April 8th against Seattle. It’s the first time fans have been at Target Field since October 7th, 2019. Among highlights: A video and moment of silence to remember those that the Minnesota sports community lost in the off-season, including Twins bench coach Mike Bell who died just a few days ago at the age of 46. There will be a flyover by two F-16s from the Duluth-based 148th Fighter Wing of the Minnesota National Guard. A “Welcome Back” video will honor Twins fans, and the ceremonial starting lineup will salute educators and other school personnel.
