Twins announce theme nights

May 27, 2021 By Minnesota News Network

MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL, MN – Celebrating diversity, bringing added awareness to important health causes and reveling in pop culture phenomenon, all through the shared experience of baseball, the Minnesota Twins today announced their first 20 scheduled “Theme Nights” for the 2021 regular season at Target Field. Unique, premium giveaways are available exclusively with the purchase of that game’s theme night ticket package; fans can buy their 2021 Twins theme night game tickets at twinsbaseball.com/themenights, or by calling 1-800-33-TWINS. Theme night packages are limited and expected to sell out.

Please note that additional Twins Theme Nights, including Love Your Melon, Timberwolves and Wild nights, among potential others, will be announced in the future, once dates and details have been finalized.

New for 2021
Highlighting a trio of new theme nights that were set to debut in 2020, but will now have their inaugural showing in 2021, is First Avenue Night (August 17), with the Twins celebrating this famed music venue and the club’s downtown Minneapolis neighbor. Fans who purchase this theme night package will receive a co-branded First Avenue/Twins jersey.

Kids of all ages will enjoy Sesame Street Day on June 27, with a Twins t-shirt created in the spirit of the long-running show’s Cookie Monster character. One month after the cast of this beloved sitcom reunites for a special show, the Twins will be there for you on the first-ever Friends Day (June 26, featuring a Friends-themed T.C. bobblehead).

In February 1980, at Lake Placid, N.Y., the United States Olympic Hockey Team became arguably the most iconic American sports team ever assembled, shocking the Soviet Union in the “Miracle on Ice” before defeating Finland to win gold. Now, 41 years later, the Twins will hold its first 1980 Miracle Team Celebration Night on September 28, with theme night ticket holders receiving a Twins jersey inspired by this legendary group.

Additionally, the 2021 Pride Night presented by Target (July 6) will feature a first-of-its-kind premium item, with fans able to customize a Twins/Pride Night jersey with their personal pronouns of choice (customization available at time of theme night purchase; pronouns will appear on the sleeve).

Returning Favorites
Among the returning theme night favorites scheduled thus far in 2021 are games celebrating five local colleges and universities; the #OneMN sports series bringing the Twins together with the Minnesota Lynx (July 5), United (June 10) and Vikings (June 8); pop culture gatherings for Star Wars (July 26), Peanuts (June 13), the Grateful Dead (June 11) and Margaritaville (June 12); and a fundraising effort on Cancer Awareness Night (June 21, when the Twins will also pay special tribute to former bench coach Mike Bell, who passed away during Spring Training following a bout with cancer).
