Tyler Austin homered and singled and Jorge Polanco had an RBI double for Minnesota. LaMonte Wade’s bases-clearing triple highlighted a five-run ninth inning for Minnesota. Starter Stephen Gonsalves permitted four runs, three earned, in three innings of work. After the game, Minnesota optioned Wade and Gonsalves to Triple-A Rochester, along with Nick Gordon and Luis Arraez. The Twins face the Red Sox today in Fort Myers.

Jameson Taillon, set to pitch on opening day for Pittsburgh, made his first spring training start and allowed three runs and five hits in four innings.
