(Miami, FL) — Minnesota centerfielder Byron Buxton hit a solo home run as the Twins clipped the Marlins 2-1 in Miami last night. Miguel Sano also doubled in a run for Minnesota. Jake Odorizzi improved to 12-and-5 on the season after giving up just one run over five-and-two-thirds innings for the Twins, who have won six of their last nine. Curtis Granderson doubled in the lone run for Miami. Zac Gallen allowed two runs over seven innings, but took the tough-luck loss. The Marlins have split their last four games. Both teams had just four hits each. Minnesota now leads Cleveland by three-games in the American League Central Division, as the Indians lost to Houston last night. The Twins and Marlins play game two of their three-game series tonight at 6:10 P-M.
