(Minneapolis, MN) — Despite rallying from an early deficit in the end the Twins fell to the Tigers 11-6 in 12 innings on Wednesday night at Target Field. Detroit built up a 5-1 lead but the Twins battled back pulling even at 5-5 in the eighth. That was enough to force extra innings and while the two teams exchanged runs in the 11th, the Tigers pulled away in the 12th including a two run homer by Spencer Torkelson to put Detroit in front for good. Despite the loss, the Twins still took two of three in the series but fall to 67-73. They’re currently 3 ½ games out of an American League Wild Card spot. Today they’re off and then will start a three game set in Chicago starting Friday. That’s followed by a three game trip to Detroit for a rematch with the Tigers. There’s just 22 games left in the regular season.
