(Washington, D.C.) — Max Kepler and Carlos Correa both homered as the Twins edged the Nationals 3-2 on Wednesday afternoon in D.C. Kepler’s fourth homer of the season came in the second inning to give Minnesota the 1-0 lead and then Correa added to it in the sixth with his fourth round-tripper to up the lead to 2-0. Kepler finished off the scoring in the top of the ninth when Ryan Jeffers drove him home to make it 3-1 and the Twins held on for the victory. Steven Okert gets credit for the win while Jhoan Duran locked down his fourth save of the season. The Twins have won two straight and take two of three in the series. They’ll now return home to open up a six game homestand with three against the Rangers followed by three against the Royals.
