FORT MYERS, Florida — With the current Major League Baseball lockout and ongoing negotiations between MLB and the Major League Baseball Players Association, the originally scheduled exhibition contest for Friday, Feb. 25 between the Minnesota Twins and Minnesota Golden Gophers Baseball program has been canceled.
The start of MLB’s spring training has been delayed as the league and players union have yet to reach a new collective bargaining agreement.
In its place, the Gophers will take on Northeastern University at 1:05 p.m. ET at Hammond Stadium in Fort Myers, Fla. Admission to the game and parking are both free and the gates to the stadium will open at noon.
Additionally, the Gophers’ games against Indiana State on Saturday, Feb. 26 and Sunday, Feb. 27 will both now also take place at Hammond Stadium.
