The Minnesota Twins – who are 20-12 at home this season – return to Target Field tonight for their seventh homestand of the 2025 season, a seven-game stay featuring the annual “Border Battle” against the Milwaukee Brewers (tonight, Friday, June 20-Sunday, June 22) and a four-game series against American League West division foe the Seattle Mariners (Monday, June 23-Thursday, June 26).

• Melissa and Mark Hortman Tribute: Prior to tonight’s game, the Twins will pay tribute to the life and legacy of former Minnesota House Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark, who were tragically murdered in their home last weekend. The Twins will also recognize state Senator John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, who were injured in a similar attack.
• Juneteenth Recognition: Prior to Friday’s game, the Twins will commemorate Juneteenth, which honors June 19, 1865 – the day Union troops marched into Galveston, TX two months after the end of the Civil War and announced the freedom of remaining enslaved people.
o Pregame Recognition: The Twins will recognize The JK Movement, which was founded 13 years ago and is a culturally responsive nonprofit committed to transforming the lives of young people through healing-centered engagement, mentorship and leadership development.
o Ceremonial First Pitch: A ceremonial first pitch will be thrown out by Until We Are All Free, a human rights organization dedicated to creating pathways for economic and civic liberation for individuals disenfranchised by mass incarceration. The organization is led by Kevin Reese and Kahlee Griffey.
o Anthems: “The Star-Spangled Banner” and “Lift Every Voice and Sing” will be performed by local music collective Ozone Creations, dedicated to amplifying the rich tapestry of Afrocentric music.

• Joe Schmit Ceremonial First Pitch: A ceremonial first pitch will be thrown out by former KSTP Sports Director Joe Schmit, who retired in April after 40 years at the station. Schmit is also the author of three books including “The Right Thing To Do,” a children’s book about Twins legend Joe Mauer.
• Minnesota Aurora FC: A ceremonial first pitch will be thrown out by midfielder Helen Schaefer from Minnesota Aurora FC. Additionally, members of the team will lead the crowd in “Take Me Out To The Ballgame” in the middle of the seventh inning.
