Twins lose fifth straight

Jonathan Schoop hit a tiebreaking homer in the sixth inning, and the Tigers finished off a three-game sweep.

Tyler Alexander (2-1) pitched 3 2/3 scoreless innings of relief for Detroit, which handed Kenta Maeda (4-1) his first loss of the year.

Detroit has won five straight to pull back to .500 on the season. Minnesota has dropped five in a row.

Jeimer Candelario also homered for the Tigers, and Jorge Polanco went deep for the Twins.

Gregory Soto worked the ninth for his second save.
