Perkins to DL
(Minneapolis, MN) — Chicago starter Carlos Rodon and four relievers combined on a four-hit shutout as the White Sox blanked the winless Minnesota Twins last night at Target Field, 3-0. Rodon struck out six while giving up three hits and five walks over six scoreless innings for his first win. Nate Robertson closed it out for his fourth save. Jerry Sands hit a two-run homer for the Sox, who moved to 6-and-2. Phil Hughes yielded all three runs in six-and-a-third frames as he dipped to 0-and-2. The Twins are 0-and-8 on the year. The teams wrap up their three-game set with a noon game today in Minneapolis. In addition, the Twins are without the services of closer Glen Perkins for a few weeks. He was placed on the 15-day disabled list yesterday with a shoulder injury. The Twins recalled left-hander Taylor Rogers from Triple-A Rochester to fill the void. Rogers has not pitched in the big leagues.
