The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have reinstated right-handed pitcher Sonny Gray from the 15-day Injured List.
Gray has missed the Twins’ last 16 games with a right pectoral strain since being placed on the Injured List on June 2 (retroactive to May 30). The 32-year-old has gone 3-1 with a 2.41 ERA (33.2 IP, 9 ER), 10 walks, 39 strikeouts, a .187 opponent batting average and a 0.98 WHIP in seven starts for Minnesota this season.
To make room on the 26-man roster, the Twins have optioned left-handed pitcher Jovani Moran to St. Paul. Moran made eight relief appearances for the Twins, posting a 1.74 ERA (10.1 IP, 2 ER) with one save, seven walks, 15 strikeouts, a .167 opponent batting average and a 1.26 WHIP.
