The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have returned outfielder Kyle Garlick from his rehab assignment and reinstated him from the 10-day Injured List.
Garlick, who missed the Twins’ last 13 games with a right calf strain, played in two games on rehab assignment with Triple-A St. Paul, going 3-for-9 with one double, one home run and two RBI. He has played in 13 games for the Twins this season, hitting .238 (5-for-21) with three home runs, six RBI, five walks, a .385 on-base percentage and a 1.051 OPS.
To make room for Garlick on the 26-man roster, the Twins have optioned outfielder Mark Contreras to Triple-A St. Paul. Contreras appeared in two games for the Twins, including his major league debut on May 11 vs. Houston, going 0-for-2 with one RBI, one sacrifice fly and one run scored.
