The Minnesota Twins announced they have returned catcher Christian Vázquez from his rehab assignment and reinstated him from the 10-day Injured List.

Vázquez, who missed the last 43 games with a left shoulder infection, played in four games with Triple-A St. Paul on rehab assignment, going 2-for-15 with one home run, four RBI, three walks and three runs scored. Prior to being placed on the IL, he played in 61 games for the Twins, hitting .174 (31-for-178) with seven doubles, two home runs, 13 RBI, 12 runs scored, 16 walks and a .251 on-base percentage.

To make room for Vázquez on the 28-man roster, the Twins have optioned outfielder DaShawn Keirsey Jr. to St. Paul. Keirsey Jr. appeared in just one game during his most recent stint with the Twins, playing one inning in leftfield on Saturday in game two of the doubleheader vs. the Cleveland Guardians and grounding out in his only plate appearance.
