The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have activated right-handed pitcher Woo-Suk Go to the 26-man roster.
Go, who was acquired from the Detroit Tigers in exchange for cash considerations on Sunday, has split the 2026 season between Double-A Erie and Triple-A Toledo in the Tigers organization, combining to go 3-1 with a 1.96 ERA (41.1 IP, 9 ER), one home run allowed, 13 walks, 54 strikeouts, a 0.82 WHIP and a .145 opponent batting average in 27 games (1 start). Since the start of June, nine of his 10 appearances for Toledo have been scoreless, posting a 1.35 ERA (13.1 IP, 2 ER) with three walks to 11 strikeouts in that span.
The 27-year-old was originally signed by the San Diego Padres to a minor league deal in January of 2024 and has spent three seasons in the minor league systems of the Padres, Miami Marlins and Tigers. Over 103 career minor league games (4 starts), he has gone 9-5 with a 4.50 ERA (136.0 IP, 68 ER), 10 saves, 60 walks and 143 strikeouts. Prior to playing in the United States, the Ganghwa-gun, South Korea native pitched for seven seasons with the LG Twins in the KBO League from 2017-23. Go will be in uniform for tonight’s game against the Cleveland Guardians at Target Field, will wear uniform number one and look to make his major league debut.
To make room for Go on the 26-man roster, the Twins optioned right-handed pitcher Cody Laweryson to Triple-A St. Paul yesterday. Laweryson has gone 1-0 with a 4.86 ERA (16.2 IP, 9 ER), one save, two holds, eight walks, 18 strikeouts and a .227 opponent batting average in 15 games for the Twins this season.
