The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have placed left-handed pitcher Anthony Misiewicz on the 15-day Injured List (retroactive to July 23) with left shoulder impingement.

Misiewicz, who was removed from the game on Wednesday at Los Angeles-NL with the injury, appeared in four games for the Twins after having his contract selected on July 9, allowing five runs on four hits in 4.1 innings, with three walks and five strikeouts.

To replace Misiewicz on the 26-man roster, the Twins have recalled left-handed pitcher Kody Funderburk from Triple-A St. Paul. Funderburk has gone 3-0 with a 1.78 ERA (25.1 IP, 5 ER), two saves, nine walks, 25 strikeouts, a 1.07 WHIP and a .200 opponent batting average in 19 games for the Saints this season. This is his fourth stint with Minnesota this year, going 1-0 with a 6.92 ERA (13.0 IP, 10 ER), five walks and nine strikeouts in 10 combined appearances in his prior stints.
