The Minnesota Twins announced that they have returned right-handed pitcher Trevor Megill from his rehab assignment and reinstated him from the 15-day Injured List.
Megill, who missed the Twins’ last 18 games with right shoulder impingement, made one rehab appearance with Triple-A St. Paul on Saturday night vs. Omaha, pitching 1.0 scoreless inning with one strikeout. Prior to being placed on the Injured List, Megill appeared in eight games for the Twins, going 2-1 with a 2.08 ERA (13.0 IP, 3 ER), five walks and 15 strikeouts.
To make room for Megill on the 26-man roster, the Twins have designated right-handed pitcher Juan Minaya for release or assignment. Minaya, who had his contract selected on July 1, appeared in two games for the Twins during last weekend’s series against Baltimore, pitching 3.1 scoreless innings with four strikeouts.
