The Minnesota Twins announced that they have returned left-handed pitcher Danny Coulombe from his rehab assignment and reinstated him from the 15-day Injured List.

Coulombe made one appearance on rehab assignment with Triple-A St. Paul, pitching 1.0 scoreless inning on Friday night against Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Prior to being placed on the IL on May 18, Coulombe made 19 appearances for the Twins, pitching 16.2 scoreless innings with eight hits allowed, two walks, 19 strikeouts and a .138 opponent batting average. Coulombe’s 16.2 scoreless innings streak is tied for the second-longest active streak in baseball.

To make room for Coulombe on the 26-man roster, the Twins have placed right-handed pitcher Zebby Matthews on the 15-day Injured List with a right shoulder strain (retroactive to June 5). Matthews, who was recalled by the Twins on May 18, made four starts for the Twins, going 1-1 with a 5.21 ERA (19.0 IP, 11 ER), eight walks and 25 strikeouts.
