The Minnesota Twins announced they have placed right-handed pitcher Cody Laweryson (right forearm strain – retroactive to April 9) and infielder Royce Lewis (left knee sprain – retroactive to April 10) on the 15-day Injured List and 10-day Injured List, respectively.

Laweryson made five appearances for the Twins, allowing four runs (3 earned) on three hits in 6.1 innings pitched (4.26 ERA), with two walks and eight strikeouts, including recording his first major league save on April 6 vs. Detroit. Lewis has played in 12 games, hitting .222 (8-for-36) with two doubles, two home runs, eight RBI, six runs scored, eight walks, a .378 on-base percentage and an .822 OPS.

To replace Laweryson and Lewis on the 26-man roster, the Twins have recalled utility player Ryan Kreidler and right-handed pitcher Andrew Morris from Triple-A St. Paul. Kreidler played in nine games for the Saints, hitting .214 (6-for-28) with one double, one home run, three RBI, three runs scored, nine walks, two stolen bases, a .405 on-base percentage and a .762 OPS. The 28-year-old has played in parts of four major league seasons with the Detroit Tigers, appearing in 89 career games. Morris, who is the club’s 13th-best prospect per MLB.com, made two starts for the Saints this season, allowing one run on five hits in 7.1 innings pitched (1.23 ERA), with two walks and five strikeouts. The former fourth round pick of the Twins (2022) will be looking to make his major league debut.
