The Minnesota Twins – who enter today 3.5 games ahead of Detroit and Seattle for a playoff spot and in third place in the American League Central division – return to Target Field tonight to begin a seven-day, six-game homestand against American League West division foe the Los Angeles Angels (3 games; tonight, Monday, September 9-Wednesday, September 11). Following an off-day on Thursday, September 12, the Twins will welcome the Cincinnati Reds for a three-game, Interleague weekend series this coming Friday-Sunday (September 13-15).

THEME NIGHTS, A POSTGAME CONCERT AND MORE
This homestand features two theme nights (HBCU Night on Monday, September 9; and One MN Night on Tuesday, September 10); one gate giveaway (Los Twins Sugar Skull Bobblehead on Sunday, September 15); and one Kids Day presented by Target and Gillette Children’s (Sunday, September 15). SPECIAL COMMEMORATIONS
This homestand features several remembrances and commemorations. On Wednesday, September 11, the Twins will join all Major League Baseball in remembrance of the tragic events of September 11, 2001. On Saturday, September 14, the Twins, in partnership with the Minnesota National Guard, will honor and celebrate veterans and active servicemembers from all six branches of the U.S. Armed Forces during a special recognition of Armed Forces Appreciation Day. Both games will feature a pregame flyover. Additionally, on Sunday, September 15, the Twins will join all Major League Baseball in recognizing Roberto Clemente Day, as part of the club’s celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month.

The City of Minneapolis plays host to a big sports Sunday on September 15, as the Vikings host the San Francisco 49ers at U.S. Bank Stadium (12:00 p.m. kickoff), while the Twins simultaneously play the Cincinnati Reds at Target Field (12:05 p.m. first pitch). Whenever right-handed pitcher Pablo López starts at Target Field, fans can celebrate “Pablo Day” with the Twins’ Pablo Day Ticket Package; Pablo’s next start is scheduled for Tuesday, September 10 vs. the Angels. Fans who purchase this package will receive a ticket to the game and an exclusive Pablo-themed jersey, which pays tribute to his Venezuelan roots (now in a red color for the season’s second half). A portion of the proceeds of each package sold benefit local nonprofits Children’s Minnesota, Project Success and Ruff Start Rescue, which were all selected by Pablo and Kaylee López.

o National Anthem and “Lift Every Voice and Sing”: “The Star-Spangled Banner” and “Lift Every Voice and Sing” will be performed by local positive alternative pop band NUNNABOVE.
o Ceremonial First Pitch: A ceremonial first pitch will be thrown by Saint Paul Mayor Melvin Carter, a Florida A&M University alumnus and the city’s first African-American mayor.
• PWHL Minnesota Recognition: The Twins will honor PWHL Minnesota and celebrate their inaugural Walter Cup victory prior to tonight’s game against the Angels. Ceremonial first pitches will be thrown out by Taylor Heise and 2024 PWHL Rookie of the Year Grace Zumwinkle, both of whom played hockey at the University of Minnesota.
• Ceremonial First Pitch: A ceremonial first pitch will be thrown out by Major General William J. Bowers, the Commanding General, Marine Corps Recruiting Command. Since being commissioned in 1990 after graduating with distinction from Virginia Military Institute, Major General Bowers has served in every Marine Expeditionary Force, in every element of Marine Air Ground Task Force and in most parts of the supporting establishment.

Tuesday, September 10 vs. vs. Los Angeles Angels (6:40 p.m.; gates open at 5:30 p.m.)
• Theme Night – One MN Night: It’s the ultimate expression of Minnesota sports fandom at Target Field’s One MN Night! • Ceremonial First Pitch: A ceremonial first pitch will be thrown out by Mayer Lutheran baseball coach Dave Lane, who is retiring after 43 years. Lane was inducted into the Minnesota High School Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2018 and led his teams to a 464-417-2 record, reaching the state tournament four times.

Wednesday, September 11 vs. Los Angeles Angels (6:10 p.m.; gates open at 5:00 p.m.)
• Olympic Recognition: The Twins will recognize Team USA Olympians swimmer Regan Smith and diver Sarah Bacon prior to the game. Lakeville, MN native Smith won two silver medals and one bronze at the 2024 Paris Olympics, while University of Minnesota alumna Bacon took home one silver at the same games.
• 9/11 Remembrance: The Twins will join all Major League Baseball in remembering the tragic events of September 11, 2001 and honoring those who lost their lives that day.
o Flyover: A flyover featuring four F-35 Lightning IIs from the 421st Fighter Squadron will take place prior to first pitch.

TWINS VS. CINCINNATI REDS: FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 13 – SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 15 (3 GAMES)

Friday, September 13 vs. Cincinnati Reds presented by Klondike (7:10 p.m.; gates open at 5:00 p.m.)
• Twins City Connect Friday: The Twins will wear their Nike City Connect uniforms for the 10th time.
• Bob Allison Day: The Twins will welcome a group from the Bob Allison Ataxia Research Center (BAARC) at the University of Minnesota for Bob Allison Day. In 1990, Twins great Allison helped found the BAARC with his wife, sons and former teammates Jim Kaat and Frank Quilici. Though Allison succumbed to ataxia in 1995, his legacy lives on in the BAARC, which has raised over $9 million in support of ataxia research. The Twins and BAARC partner on the Diamond Awards, an annual fundraiser and awards show; the next Diamond Awards are scheduled for January 23, 2025.
o Ceremonial First Pitches: Ceremonial first pitches will be thrown out by Anna Frigstad, whose mother, Karen Frigstad, has lived with ataxia for over 20 years, and by Tino Rodriguez, a supporter of the BAARC.
• Chris Young Postgame Concert presented by TickPick: Following the September 13 Twins-Reds game, fans can stick around for a free, 90-minute concert performed by chart-topping country star Chris Young. VIP Ticket Packages, including field access, are available.

Saturday, September 14 vs. Cincinnati Reds (6:10 p.m.; gates open at 4:00 p.m.)

• Roku MLB Sunday Leadoff: The Sunday, September 15 series and homestand finale between the Twins and Reds has been selected as the Roku MLB Sunday Leadoff game. The game will start at 12:05 p.m. and will stream free on The Roku Channel.
• Gate Giveaway – Los Twins Sugar Skull Bobblehead: The first 10,000 fans through the Target Field gates on September 15 will receive a Los Twins Sugar Skull Bobblehead.
• Roberto Clemente Day: The Twins will join Major League Baseball and all 30 clubs in recognizing Roberto Clemente Day on September 15. The day was established to honor the life and legacy of Clemente, a National Baseball Hall of Famer and 15-time All-Star who was tragically killed in a plane crash in 1972 while bringing supplies to earthquake victims in Nicaragua. The Twins’ nominee for the 2024 Roberto Clemente Award will be recognized that day; the annual award honors the player who best represents baseball on and off the field through sportsmanship and community involvement.
• Los Twins Day and Hispanic Heritage Month: The Twins will begin their celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month with Los Twins Day and a game presented by Puerto Rico Tourism.
o Pregame Performance: A pregame dance performance will feature Mi Perú Minnesota, a nonprofit dedicated to promoting the diverse Peruvian culture via folkloric dances. The group will perform a coastal marinera dance and a highland valicha dance from Cusco, Peru.
o Puerto Rican Player Recognition: The Puerto Rico Convention District Authority (PRCDA) will be on hand for a special presentation recognizing several Twins players of Puerto Rican heritage – Carlos Correa, Willi Castro, Austin Martin, Jose Miranda and Christian Vázquez. They will be joined on-field by PRCDA Executive Director Mariela Vallines, Puerto Rico Secretary of Sports and Recreation Ray Quinones and PRCDA Deputy Director Norberto Pérez O’Neill.
o Ceremonial First Pitch: A ceremonial first pitch will be thrown by Mariela Vallines, PRCDA Executive Director.
o Ceremonial First Pitches: Ceremonial first pitches will be thrown by Bobby Cruz, a third-generation Mexican-American community leader based in St. Paul and a champion for the Minnesota Latino Museum project, and by Irma Marquez Trapero, an immigrant from Culiacán, México and the Chief Executive Officer of LatinoLead, a nonprofit comprised of Latinx leaders across all sectors who join to create innovative strategies to drive and define policies and perceptions that advance Latinx collective influence, success and power.
o In-Game Music: The Boriken Cultural Center will be playing Puerto Rican music from the third floor balcony throughout the game.
