The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have recalled outfielder Gabriel Gonzlaez from Triple-A St. Paul.
Gonzalez, 22, has hit .254 (102-for-402) with 19 doubles, two triples, 15 home runs and 51 RBI in 106 games for the Saints this season. This marks his second stint with the Twins this season, after being with the club from May 22-25 and making his major league debut on May 22 at Boston, going 1-for-2 with two walks and one run scored in his only game played.
To make room for Gonzalez on the 26-man roster, the Twins have placed outfielder Byron Buxton on the 10-day Injured List with right hip impingement (retroactive to August 27). This will mark Buxton’s third stint on the Injured List with a hip-related injury this season. The 2026 American League All-Star has hit .254 (94-for-370) with 18 doubles, one triple, 25 home runs, 46 RBI, 65 runs scored, a .511 slugging percentage and an .829 OPS in 93 games for Minnesota.
