The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have placed right-handed pitcher Bailey Ober on the 15-day Injured List with a left hip impingement (retroactive to June 29).

Ober has made 17 starts for the Twins this season, going 4-6 with a 5.28 ERA (92.0 IP, 54 ER), 21 home runs allowed, 22 walks and 74 strikeouts, including a record of 0-5 with a 9.00 ERA (30.0 IP, 30 ER) and 14 homers allowed in his last five starts, since June 6.

To replace Ober on the 26-man roster, the Twins have recalled left-handed pitcher Kody Funderburk from Triple-A St. Paul. During his most recent stint with the Saints, Funderburk allowed one run on eight hits in 9.0 innings pitched, with three walks and eight strikeouts in six relief appearances, from June 10-29. In two previous stints with Minnesota earlier this season, he went 1-0 with a 7.50 ERA (12.0 IP, 10 ER), five walks and nine strikeouts.

Additionally, infielder Jonah Bride has cleared outright waivers and has been outrighted to St. Paul. Bride was designated for assignment after Sunday night’s game against the Detroit Tigers to make room for infielder Royce Lewis.
