The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have placed infielder Luke Keaschall on the 10-day Injured List with a left thumb sprain (retroactive to September 24).

Keaschall, who sustained the injury Tuesday night while sliding into second base, hit .302 (55-for-182) with 14 doubles, four home runs, 28 RBI, 19 walks, 14 stolen bases, 25 runs scored and an .827 OPS in 49 games for the Twins this season.

To replace Keaschall on the 28-man roster, the Twins have recalled outfielder DaShawn Keirsey Jr. This is Keirsey Jr.’s fifth stint with the Twins this season, going 9-for-83 with two home runs, six RBI, two walks, nine stolen bases and 11 runs scored in 71 games.
