The Minnesota Twins announced they have reinstated infielder Royce Lewis from the 10-day Injured List.
Lewis, who has missed the club’s last nine games with a left knee sprain, played in two games on rehab assignment with Triple-A St. Paul, going 2-for-7 with two home runs and three RBI. Prior to landing on the Injured list, Lewis played in 12 games for the Twins, hitting .222 (8-for-36) with two doubles, two home runs, eight RBI, six runs scored, eight walks, a .378 on-base percentage and an .822 OPS.
To make room for Lewis on the 26-man roster, the Twins have placed left-handed pitcher Kody Funderburk on the Paternity List. Funderburk has appeared in 12 games for the Twins this season, going 1-1 with a 2.00 ERA (9.0 IP, 2 ER), seven walks, eight strikeouts, a .212 opponent batting average, one save and four holds.
To fill the 26-man roster spot of right-handed pitcher Mick Abel (right elbow inflammation), who was placed on the 15-day Injured List yesterday, the Twins have recalled left-handed pitcher Kendry Rojas from St. Paul.
Rojas, 23, made two appearances (1 start) for the Saints, throwing 6.0 scoreless innings, with four hits allowed, two walks and five strikeouts. The Ciego de Avila, Cuba native was acquired by the Twins at the 2025 trade deadline from the Toronto Blue Jays along with outfielder Alan Roden, in exchange for infielder Ty France and right-handed pitcher Louis Varland. Over parts of six minor league seasons in the Toronto and Minnesota organizations, the left-hander has gone 11-17 with a 3.54 ERA (287.1 IP, 113 ER), 107 walks, 333 strikeouts (10.4 K/9.0 IP) and a 1.27 WHIP in 76 games (62 starts). Entering the 2026 season, Rojas was ranked as the club’s eighth-best prospect by Baseball America and 10th-best prospect by MLB.com. He will be in uniform for tonight’s game against the Mets and is looking to make his major league debut.
