Twins Rip Royals; Search for Series Sweep Today

(Minneapolis, MN) — Starting pitcher Sonny Gray was magnificent in a 9-0 win over the Royals. Gray lasted six innings and struck out 10 while giving up three hits and no runs to earn his seventh win of the season. In all the Twins outslugged the Royals 16-5 lead by Gio Urshela who had four hits. The Twins have taken two straight to open the series with K.C. which concludes this afternoon at Target Field. In other news, the Guardians fell to the Tigers last night and now the Twins trail Cleveland by just one game for first place in the A-L Central.

The Twins will try for a sweep over the Royals Wednesday afternoon at Target Field. The home team has won each of the first two games by a combined 13-2 margin. The match up couldn’t have come at a better time as the Twins try to just back into the top spot in the A-L Central. The expected match up will see Tyler Mahle on the mound for Minnesota against Daniel Lynch for K.C. First pitch at 12:10 P-M from Minneapolis.
