(Minneapolis, MN) — In front of a packed crowd at Target Field, the Twins came up just short as they fell to the Dodgers 4-3 on Wednesday night. Byron Buxton, with the tying run on base, struck out to end the ball game as he finished 0-for-5 on the evening with a pair of K’s. The featured pitching duel saw Joe Ryan battle Shohei Ohtani. While Ryan went six innings he gave up four runs while giving up eight hits while striking out nine and walking just one. Ohtani also lasted six innings giving up three runs on five hits and also striking out eight. He also had two hits, a run and an R-B-I in five plate appearances. The Twins dropped all three games in the series against the Dodgers and fall to 38-44 on the season. The Dodgers are the top team in baseball with a 52-29 record. The Twins are off today but return to Target Field to host the Colorado Rockies this weekend starting Friday night at 7:10 P-M.
