The Minnesota Twins announced they have acquired right-handed pitcher Dean Kremer in a trade with the Baltimore Orioles, in exchange for minor league outfielder Jhomnardo Reyes.
Kremer, 30, has gone 1-4 with a 6.50 ERA (36.0 IP, 26 ER), 11 walks, 38 strikeouts and a 1.36 WHIP in seven starts for the Orioles this season. The right-hander began the season with Triple-A Norfolk and made two starts for Baltimore in April, before missing time on the Injured List with a right quad strain; he was reinstated on July 1. The Stockton, California native was originally selected by Los Angeles-NL in the 14th round of the 2016 First-Year Player Draft out of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and has gone 42-44 with a 4.37 ERA (707.2 IP, 344 ER), 233 walks, 616 strikeouts and a 1.29 WHIP rate in 133 career major league games (130 starts), all with Baltimore.
Reyes, 18, entered today hitting .275 (49-for-178) with 12 doubles, three triples, seven home runs, 46 RBI and 35 runs scored in 55 games between the Rookie Florida Complex League Twins and Low-A Fort Myers. The Mao, Dominican Republic native was originally signed by the Twins in January of 2025.
To make room for Kremer on the 40-man roster, the Twins have transferred right-handed pitcher Mike Paredes to the 60-day Injured List. Paredes was placed on the Injured List on July 26 with a left oblique strain. A corresponding 26-man roster move will be made at a later date.
