(Minneapolis, MN) — A pair of Golden Gopher freshmen women golfers will be competing in the NCAA Regional early next week in Westfield, Indiana at The Club at Chatham Hills. Isabella McCauley of Inver Grove Heights and Mariana Mesones of Trujillo, Peru will be paired together when action starts on Monday. This is the first time in six years any player from Minnesota will compete in this tournament. McCauley, who starred at Simley High School, just finished second at the Big Ten Tournament and led the Gophers in top ten finishes this season. Mesones set school records for low score in back-to-back tournaments in the fall and has four top ten finishes this season. The NCAA Regional will take place Monday through Wednesday of next week. Only the top two individuals will advance to the NCAA Championship Finals, set for May 19-24, in Scottsdale, Arizona.
