The U-of-M Board of Regents at a special meeting tomorrow (Tues) hears results of two investigations — outside and internal — into sexual harrassment and equal rights complaints against the athletics department under former director Norwood Teague (TEEG). Some have complained that University President Eric Kaler left the board out of important decisions when reacting to the controversy. Kaler responds, “I felt it was appropriate for me to handle the problem and report the results, and one regent thought I should have done otherwise. As far as I know, eleven of ’em thought that was the right thing to do.” About the Teague scandal, Regents Chairman Dean Johnson from Willmar says “we’re going to have a cleaner, more accountable department of athletics.”
