The U-of-M Board of Regents at a special meeting tomorrow (Tues) hears results of two investigations — outside and internal — into sexual harrassment and equal rights complaints against the athletics department under former director Norwood Teague. Some have complained that University President Eric Kaler left the board out of important decisions when reacting to the controversy. Kaler responds it was appropriate for him to handle the problem and report the results — and although one regent thought he should have done otherwise, eleven on the board thought it was the right thing to do. On the Teague scandal, Regents Chairman Dean Johnson from Willmar says “we’re going to have a cleaner, more accountable department of athletics.”
