As state officials prepare to release results of their investigation into the officer fatal shooting of Philando Castile, Congressman Keith Ellison says there needs to be full disclosure so the public can understand what happened. Ellison, a Democrat who represents Minneapolis, says most police officers do a wonderful job, but “sometimes things go really bad, as they did in the Castile case, and in those cases… it seems like the doubts get resolved in favor of the officer, which in my view does not promote trust.”
Ellison says he thinks there will be better answers through the civil rights case that Castile’s mother, Valerie, is pursuing. Ellison says he wishes her the best.
