Although most headlines from Washington D-C have been on the impeachment hearings in the House, 8th District Republican Congressman Pete Stauber says he’s remained focused on work that must be done. Stauber says in the last three months, the House has voted twice on continuing resolutions to keep the government funded. “That’s not how we should operate…. For instance our military, they need certainty on future and the monies coming in, and this is just not the way to run the federal government,” he says.
Just before the shutdown deadline, President Trump this week signed a bill to keep the government running through December 20th. Congress is on Thanksgiving recess. Lawmakers come back after the 1st of December.
