The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Department has reported a major drug seizure that appears to have been the result of mere happenstance. Captain Scott Behrns says a local citizen called the Sheriff’s Department Monday morning to report the discovery of three large plastic totes along a rural road southwest of Rochester. Inside, deputies found 112 plastic-wrapped packages of marijuana that each weighed around a pound. Altogether, the pot, described by Behrns as “high quality” weighed 138 pounds. Behrns says the estimated “street value” has been pegged a minimum of $345,000.
