The Minnesota United beat Chicago last night, 3-1 in extra time at Allianz Field. The game was tied at one at the end of regulation. In the extra 30-minute session, Kelvin Yeboah scored two goals as the Loons won the game in the quarterfinals of the U.S. Open Cup. The Loons move on to the quarterfinals in September.
While Minnesota and Chicago are in the MLS, this game did not count in the league standings. The next league game will be Saturday at home against San Jose.
