(Milan) — The US women’s ice hockey team is officially going for Gold. The Stars and Stripes secured their spot in the gold medal game after dominating Sweden 5-0 in the semifinals from Milan. Abbey Murphy led the way with a goal and an assist. Aerin Frankel turned aside every shot she faced to preserve the shutout. Team USA has guaranteed at least a silver medal for the fifth consecutive Winter Games. The US last won gold in 2018. They’ll face the defending Gold medal champs as Canada advanced thanks to a 2-1 win over Switzerland. Puck drops at 12:10 p.m. on Thursday.
