Interim MN Lottery Director Michael Vekich
Governor Mark Dayton today appointed well-known troubleshooter Michael Vekich as interim director of the State Lottery. Former Lottery director Ed Van Petten resigned amid media reports that he received state reimbursement for stays by government employees at his timeshare condominimums. Interim Lottery Director Vekich had the same assignment back in 2004 under former Governor Tim Pawlenty, after the Lottery’s original director, George Andersen, committed suicide.
