A verdict has been reached in the murder trial of former Minneapolis police officer Mohamed Noor after the case was turned over to the jury yesterday afternoon. Noor is facing murder and manslaughter charges in the July 2017 shooting of Justine Damond, who had called 9-1-1 to report a possible rape in the alley behind her south Minneapolis home. We’ll have more details as they become available.
Noor claims that Damond banged on their squad car, raised her arm and scared his partner before he shot her in self-defense.
