Vice President Mike Pence will be in Duluth next Wednesday (8/8), campaigning for 8th District U-S House candidate Pete Stauber. Minnesota has been getting a lot of attention from the White House this summer. At a June 20th forum in Duluth, President Trump told an audience of business leaders, “I’m very proud of this state. This is a great place. This is an incredible place and we will fulfill all of our promises.”
The Trump-Pence ticket narrowly lost Minnesota in 2016 but won in the 8th District, and Republicans are pouring national funding into that congressional race, hoping to take the U-S House seat currently held by Democrat Rick Nolan, who’s retiring and decided to run for lieutenant governor. Five Democrats are battling in the August 14th primary to carry their party’s banner against Republican candidate Stauber.
