Vice President Mike Pence at a farm in Glyndon on Thursday called on 7th District Minnesota Congressman Collin Peterson to get the U-S/Mexico/Canada trade agreement ratified. “Congressman Peterson is in a unique position as chairman of the Agriculture Committee to carry the urgency that I heard today to the Democratic leadership in the Congress and get them to act,” Pence said. “If Speaker Pelosi puts the USMCA on the floor of the Congress, it’ll pass.”
Peterson responded in a statement that he understands the importance of getting a trade deal in place so the government doesn’t mess up parts of NAFTA that are working. After a stop in northwest Minnesota, Vice President Pence visited a steel plant in Saint Paul.
